Problems with RSS date sorting could be caused by the formatting of the date.Use the format below:
<pubdate>startdate.ToString("o")</pubdate>
This will produce the format within the feed which will sort appropriately.
<pubdate>2011-04-28T00:00:00.0000000</pubdate>
